In most cases you can pay the remaining amount with another payment method, but whether that is allowed depends on the brand, not on us. Many brands let you apply the gift card first and then cover the rest with a card or another option they accept. Some brands do not allow a split payment at all, and in that case the gift card can only be used for an order that fits inside its balance.
Where split payment is allowed, it usually happens at the brand checkout. You enter the gift card code in the field for gift cards or vouchers, the balance is taken off the total, and the amount still owing is shown before you confirm. You then choose how to pay the rest in the normal way. The gift card is not used up by this, so any balance left over stays on it for later.
If the brand does not allow a split payment, you have a few choices. You can pick something that costs the same as or less than your balance, or you can check whether the brand lets you combine more than one gift card to reach the total. We cannot change how a brand handles this, so it is worth reading their gift card terms before you shop.
If you are not sure which rules apply, check the balance first and look at the gift card or voucher page on the brand website, since that is where their current rules are set out. If the code is accepted but the checkout will not let you add another payment method, that is a brand setting, and the brand support team is the right place to ask. If the code itself is not working, get in touch with us and we will look into the gift card from our side.
